2017 09 05 Budapest Esceri Szechenyi

Long day, long walk, went out to the flea market, then to the pool again for an evening session.

List Concert hall, unfortunately no gigs booked there until after we left

Ticket booth

Foyer

Foyer of a random building

Nice stairwell, unusual in that no-one had jammed a lift into the centre of it yet.

Typical courtyard inside one of the apartment buildings.

Custom hexo glass inserts to random door

Esceri market

these bikes are 1940,s.

timber handle grips

The brake is like a piston that pushes down on the top of the tyre...

Wallpaper printing rollers...?

Leica's
I think these are real prices, 400 and 500 Euro each
This whole market is not cheap, but there is plenty to look at.

Maket cafe

Schnitzel, beer and Unicum for lunch

Back to the pool in the evening
It actually rained, but the pools are heated, so no problem
Had a sauna session, then in the splash and whirlpools.

Simon doing laps

Bar at left. Why not?
OK to drink and smoke, bring in your own food etc.
People very well behaved, no running, no yelling, no advertising, no music, no splashing or diving or any tomfoolery, just people relaxing, lots of young and especially old people, all shapes and sizes.
Worlds best pool, by my measure.

Walking back at night, this is what their agricultural museum looks like...

Iron Curtain sculpture on Andrassy avenue.
